Getting Lengthy

In line with recent events, I have spoiled my keyboard (AGAIN!). Apparently I left my water bottle uncapped on the computer table, then turned around to talk to my sis. In the swing of my large chair… the unfortunate accident HAPPENED!

Thus explaining my lack of ability to blog yesterday… But anyway, I was dismissed at like 1pm today, so I had time to go home ->NAP -> then go over to kovan to get a new keyboard on which I’m currently typing on. But of course the main point is HEY GALS I’M DISMISSED AT 1PM. Now I know you’re jealous! PS: just to make you green with envy.. my orientation ends like 4-5pm latest everyday, except campfire day!

But of course, short days come with a price. HC’s orientation is 2 WEEKS long. Haven’t decided whether it’s a good thing a not.. But well, I guess time will tell. And now let me boast about another thing: hey my orientation package is FREE! Yes FOC!!!!! [evil grins**] Well, but before all of you turn murderous… Bear in mind that I have my own fair share of misery k?!

Dear lucky Wen Ying has been grouped with Lu Meng, and for side information: Janice with Mary.. Come on what kind of luck is that… But anyway, as expected Adeline’s company is well, as good as none. (Other than the fact that she brings me out of the school <- I don’t have a clue where the school gate is) Most of the time, she runs off with her debate friends, which I can understand to a certain extent. But being virtually alone in a new school isn’t a great feeling I must confess. And well I’ve tried of course to tag along to TRY as I might to get to know these great friends of hers. Not exactly tag along too, you see she simply meets these people in all parts of the school and starts talking. Yups, she practically knows most of them. But in any case, I can’t see myself participating in their in-depth conversation about Local and international laws about practical democracy with the passion of a blazing flame<-( true and completely based on Adel’s conversation to this Chinese high friend of hers..) At least not in the next 10 years!

First Day was filled with talks and more talks, with the different department heads of all the subjects showing you the IMPRESSIVE and INDIMIDATING results the school have achieved thus, and repeating all there was on our MOE PAE booklet. But well, you have to give it to them that they can be rather amusing at times. Esp. when they try and tell you in a not very subtle way that they have beaten their dear rival(namely, RJC) flat and blah blah. And a note to add, the principal’s rather funny, with all his mispronounced English terms. Eg. Family as far-mu-li

Then there was the OG ice-breakers, and the mass-dance, cheer and song sessions. All which was fun and well I must say that I love the HC school song. It’s completely in CHINESE. Shall type it up here some times… And remember the time in PL where we sing like to God be the Glory or theme songs every now and then? Apparently, HC has a similar tradition. Except that ALL the songs are in CHINESE! They actually have songs like "Chang Yi Shou Hua Chu De Ge" (eng trans: Sing a HC Song) and even songs like "Dang Ni Gu Dan Ni Hui Xiang Qi Shui" And there’s the Chinese cheers, etc… The mass dance was fun, though I was clueless half the time. And the couple dance was rather funny, cause for some odd reason my dance partner’(Chinese High)’s hand was trembling. [queer look]?

Well I guess HC’s never as “on” as VJ or TJ as I’ve heard from Sylvia. But well I guess that’s what I like about it.. And I could go on and on but well shall just cover 2 more main points, or Sylvia will never have a chance a clinch the most “lor-so” title..

Yesterday, when me and Adel were entering the school, there were like this two TCHS guys behind us and here ‘s their conversation.
Guy A: Hey those two girls in front must be from some neighborhood school la
Guy B: I know should be Ahmad Ibrahim!

Well, yupz that rendered me speechless, pray tell in which way do our uniform look like Ahmad Ibrahim? I don’t even know how their uniform looks, for god sake!

And in case anyone of you are wondering why I’ve been released so early. It because half the population has to take part in all the selection tests for Olympiads (Maths, Chem, Bio, Physics) and the Science Special Programmes, Ability Test for KI, etc. And yes! They are have tests on the 2nd day of school…not joking. Besides, when I stepped into the audi today, there were people reading up on physics and doing Maths Olympiad sums. You know sometimes I wonder what I have gotten myself into.

Ok, I’m typing on Microsoft word and the word count just showed: 860 words. I guess I should stop before I hit a 1000 word essay.
But anyway things are quite unsettled still.
I like what I see and feel(except the stress) in the school.
At least 20% of the population are PRC(People of Republic China) scholars.
Will be handing in my subject combination form tomorrow, though I’m still unsure if I’ll get what I want.
I’m having heavy games tomorrow, hope I won’t faint ;)
